Working Title:
A Cat’s Curse
Genre:
Folk Tale
My
inspiration is the fable tale of The Chinese Zodiac.
Outline:
In the beginning, the scene will open up with an aerial view
of a quaint little town. A poster will be hung up on a window in the middle of
the town. The poster will read, Auditions for the Chinese Zodiacs. Looking upon
the poster, the Rat will get all excited, jumping up and down, imagining
himself as one of the animals to represent the new year. His friend the Cat,
who also saw the poster, gets all excited as well. They both decide to
celebrate so they go back home and have a toast (with sake). Both drink till
they drop, dreaming of the day when they become part of the Chinese Zodiac. The
Rat wakes up coincidentally; as he looks out the window he notices that it is
already sunrise. Shocked, he rushes out the door, racing towards the temple to sign
up as a Zodiac Animal. Unfortunately, the Rat was in such a hurry that he completely
forgot to wake up his friend the Cat. The Rat becomes the first animal in the
Chinese Zodiac cycle; he comes home to show his friend the Cat his certificate.
However, the Cat is gone. Then. The Rat notices writing on his wall. The
contents stop the Rat in his tracks; Rat will forever be cursed by Cats for
rest of Life. Suddenly, the Rat is surrounded by cats. He manages to escape and
hide in an alley. However, right behind him is the very Cat that he betrayed.
Rat begs for forgiveness, but Cat does not want to hear it. In the end, Cat
happily eats Rat.
